VICTORIA INFIRMARY SUNDAY SERVICE – 4th September – the response to the request for assistance in the June “Inspire” has been to say the least disappointing – if Murdoch Hodge does not get the assistance of 8 more people, including a keyboard player, we will fail to meet our obligation to staff this service for patients.
THE MEN’S COMMISSION 2011 [a Christian organisation comprising 8 members drawn from various different churches] warmly invites men from all over the country to attend MAN ALIVE! An annual event geared for men from all walks of life. This year we have taken the bold and exciting step of booking The Main Auditorium of The Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow on Saturday 3rd September, 9.30am-4.45pm. This is an event designed specifically to really engage and challenge men.
This year from USA, we warmly welcome international author & speaker Jeff Lucas. Jeff is the author of some 18 books as well as a pastor & will be exploring the theme of Man Alive over 3 talks, looking specifically at the life and deeds of Samson. The day lasts from 9.30am-4.45pm with various breaks & lunch in between (not provided).
Tickets for the day event can still be bought for £22 rather than the £25 cover price and can be booked on-line via http://www.thecommission.org.uk. In addition, we have writer and musician Stuart Townend with us again. Stuart has written some of today’s best-known worship music and travels the world extensively leading worship and teaching at many different events. We are glad to have him at ours!
Stuart will also be performing in the evening from 7.30pm – 9.30pm in the same venue. Tickets are just £10pp and an ideal opportunity for wives and partners to join the remainder of the day.
