PASTORAL COVER – during Mr Reid’s absence I shall be grateful if members of the congregation and elders could advise me as quickly as possible, by telephone or email, of any illness or pastoral visits requiring to be made and also of people who may be in hospital. Mr McLachlan will be away from Monday 23 July till Friday 27th July and from Monday 30th July till Friday 3rd August. Anyone requiring the services of a minister are asked please to contact Rev. Catherine Beattie the minister at Giffnock South (Tel. 258 7804.)

SUMMER CHOIR – we meet weekly at 10:15am in the Session House during July & August. We’ll look at fun & easy pieces of music with the emphasis on having fun! So, please feel free to come along and try out Summer Choir – a warm welcome awaits you!

TODAY – Tea and Coffee after the morning service is served by our Summer Holiday Club, and our bible reader is Tony Drysdale.

MEARNSKIRK SERVICE – We conduct worship at Mearnskirk House this afternoon. The service commences at 2pm, those taking part please be at Mearnskirk House for 1:50pm at the latest.

THANK YOU – Mary Montgomery would like to thank everyone who supported coffee after the Church service on Sunday 15th July. £33 was raised for the Lodging House Mission.

THE BB has a ‘limited edition’ 2012 Tea Towel for sale – specially made to mark our 75th anniversary and is available from Mark Gordon, at £3.50, in the Hall.

WILLIAMWOOD HISTORY BOOKLET – Stuart Wallace’s History of Williamwood Parish Church to celebrate the 75th Anniversary is on sale at the front of the church and in the large hall.

CHURCH GARDEN TEAM will carry on each Tuesday throughout the “Summer.” As usual it’d be helpful if you can bring your own tools. Main tasks at the moment are weeding & hedge trimming. We’d be happy to welcome new members. Forget the Gyms & Slimming classes, come & get fit for free. See Jimmy Craig for info.

ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION – Could anyone who is prepared to help serve refreshments at our 75th Anniversary Exhibition at the end of September let Carole Lyons know. If possible a preference as to date would be greatly appreciated. That way Carole can pull together a rota to ensure we have adequate help throughout. (Dates: Friday 28th evening, Saturday 29th afternoon, Sunday 30th evening).

POST CARDS TO WILLIAMWOOD – in our 75th year as you travel on holiday in the UK or abroad please send a postcard to your Church Family here at Williamwood. We’ll track on a map in the Large Hall how far we have travelled. Please look at the map on the back wall of the hall we’ve got quite a few postcards already. Please also leave a “Calling Card” with greetings from Williamwood in any church you visit or worship in while on holiday. These are available at the front door.

GIVINGS UPDATE
As at the end of June the Freewill Givings total was £42,695 against a budget of £45,000 a variance to budget of £2,305. On this basis we would expect to see an annual shortfall to budget of £4,610 given current givings level being maintained. Thank you for your continued support.

WE’RE WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS – a New Year and a New Start
In February/March a small group of people will be joining us as full members of Williamwood Church. They will be meeting with the minister at the manse for a few hours in preparation for this commitment to Jesus and his church. Please remember them in your prayers. WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY – a Service will be held at Busby Church tonight at 7:30pm. The Very Rev Dr Gregor Duncan, Episcopal Bishop of Glasgow & Galloway, is guest speaker. Everyone is invited to attend.

KWENDERANA PARTNERSHIP GROUP are holding a Craft Table Top Sale in Busby Church on Sat 11 Feb. (10am–12 noon). £10 can hire a small table(s) and there will be a tea room, baking stall & unwanted gifts stall. Stall donations are gratefully received. Entry is £2 (£1 kids) incl. Tea/coffee & home baking.

KICK OFF WILIAMWOOD CHURCH 75TH ANNIVERSARY AT THE FAMILY CEILIDH – Saturday 25 February at Clarkston Bowling & Tennis Club, Eastwoodmains Rd (7.30pm till late). Tickets on sale after Church in the hall or from any of the Events Committee (£6 adults, £3 children). Please note due to hall restrictions on numbers entry by pre purchased tickets only. Come along for some dancing & fun. Any prizes for raffle on the night greatly appreciated & can be passed to the Committee (Carole Lyons, Jean Nimmo, Betty Patrick, Lillian Broadly, Mary Montgomery, Norrie Dallas, Irene Heffron, Maisie McFarlane).
